Before I joined Grindaholics, a few things happened.
The first thing is I was getting more clients, they had more needs, and I couldn’t envision a way to serve more clients and still handle the increased needs. I felt bogged down, particularly with admin tasks, but lots of tasks overall.
The second thing was I felt like I started my business to live a better life, but it began to feel consuming. I knew to get to where I needed to go, I was going to need support, but at the same time, I started my business after working in a bad work environment. I thought I would never hire anyone. So I knew I would need help with mindset and changing how I felt about hiring and leading a team of my own.
I learned a lot about systems and how to use them to serve my business better. Sitting in the systems call with Courtney, on a tech side, how I view technology and its use in my company has drastically changed in spending time in your program. We have an SOP library and workflows, and I wouldn’t have even created this stuff or imagined it without the program.
I also got a lot of clarity on creating org structure. Before, I thought hiring would just put out fires. Grindaholics Anonymous helped me see how to build my business more broadly. The Org chart template is mindblowing. Building a team has made everything about the biz more efficient. I can’t do it all, so everything has to be clear and automated to be my best.
It’s also inspiring to be around like-minded minds from the coaching calls and connect with other CEOs going through similar business situations.
It’s been so great to hire someone to take on marketing and have her grow in the role, and train her. She’s helped so much, same with operations. Someone else is doing email management and billing and all of that.
We’ve made more money because I have more time to focus on what I enjoy and am good at.
Before we had an intern program that wasn’t organized, we didn’t have systems in place, and I became the bottleneck. Before joining, I wasn’t using my team to their full potential- now, I’m able to lead more efficiently, and I understand how to delegate to them effectively.
I work significantly less than I did last year. I worked until 11 pm before I hired my Full-time employees in summer 2021. Then I worked until 9 pm. Now I stop at 7:30 pm (I start my day at 11 am with a break between 2:30-4 pm).
I can take mid-day afternoon naps when I want to now. I don’t work on the weekends anymore, and just last year, I was working almost every weekend, and for me, having more time back has been really valuable.
