I was chronically overworking, the literal definition of a grindaholic. Before joining the program, I worked 12-14 hours a day. I wore all the hats, the copywriter, designer, strategist. I tried hiring before. I hired a friend and some referrals, but neither worked out. It ended up being more work because I had to fix everything they did.
Eventually, I realized I couldn’t do it alone and needed to implement more strategy. I was barely making any money. What spoke to me about joining the program was I saw in a post that said, “You don’t need to make a lot of money to get a team.” I didn’t have a social life because I worked so much. I had to get reminders to eat and take walks. What I was doing wasn’t sustainable. I was close to just quitting my business and going back to work; I even applied for a job! I didn’t want to do this anymore. But then I found the program and knew that’s what I needed.
Grindaholics Anonymous changed my life. The mindset work, in the beginning, is underrated. I never knew I would be an entrepreneur, so I didn’t realize how much I truly lacked the vision, which led to me just making random choices and decisions. GA helped me realize I was over-delivering and undercharging for my services. Tatiana helped me get rid of an offer that drained me and wasn’t helping my business get where we needed to be.
I feel way less overwhelmed now. When I graduated in August, I took a trip back to the east coast for two weeks, and I was able to step away from my business and only had to check in with the team 1x, which was out of paranoia. I started a whole second business selling content idea cards, released a digital product, started doing paid speaking engagements.
I go to sleep at a normal time; I watch tv, I have a morning routine.
12-14 hr workdays are down to 8 hr days, but the time is now spent working on passion projects
My agency is nearly on rinse and repeat!
